This nineteenth-century stencilled scheme in the nave and chancel by Clayton and Bell had persistent problems of plaster failure, leading to occasional falls of plaster and loss of the stencilled ornament. Panels were repaired and re-plastered and the lost areas of the scheme reinstated with new stencils.
