The stonework and painted decoration in the medieval chapel at st Nicholas hospital was cleaned using a combination of gentle dry and wet methods.
Architectural Stonework
We undertake stone cleaning and repair work to architectural elements such as vaulting and stone window tracery. Work may include poultice and steam cleaning, re-pointing, lime mortar repair and stone replacement. We approach these projects from the angle of retaining as much of the original material as possible.
