Splatt Mill, Somerset

Splatt Mill, Somerset – Late 16th century wall painting on plaster. Oil medium.
This is a charming grotesque design painted as a frieze around the main reception room. The painting was severely smoke blackened over the fireplace and the plaster support was very weak. Careful cleaning and consolidation were undertaken.
