The spectacular wall monuments in the church of St Petrock, High Street, Exeter, had been coated with a dark brown varnish, obscuring the vibrant colours of the original design and affecting the experience of the church interior. The varnish was carefuly removed, allowing the colours once again to be seen and the design to be appreciated. Below: cleaning in progress.
